Named after the Prime Minister Winston Churchill, this British-made
tank got involved in the latter part of the war in Europe, after the Allies
attacked on D-Day. This particular variant is a flame thrower tank. The trailer
hitched to the rear carried the fuel, which was shot out as a firey discharge
from the nozzle on the front of the tank, below the turret.
This model kit was also from Tamiya, and was a blast to put together. Unlike my other
tanks, I didn't bother to dirty this one up. I figured this was the calm before
the storm, before the tank and her crew had seen any combat. The British tank
commander sipping a cup of tea is a resin figure from Verlinden.
