I was a big fan of the Addams Family when I was a kid. I used to watch the show
over and over again. My favorite character was always Cousin It, who I thought
was hysterically funny. Cousin It was a short fellow with hair all over his body.
He spoke in gibberish, but everybody always understood him. I can recall wanting
very badly to have Cousin It as my friend, which shows you the kind of kid I was.
Although this is not my first sculpture, it is my first time using Sculpey. After sculpting
the figure, I baked him for about 45 minutes, and it hardened pretty nicely. I
wasn't content with just making a Cousin It figure; I wanted to show him at a
Halloween costume party (much like he was in the Addams Family movie). Here
Cousin It is dressed up as a cowboy, with twin guns on a holster, and a cowboy hat.
I have no doubt that he was the life of the party.
I plan to paint Cousin It soon. I'll put those pictures up when they're done.
