Gossamer

Here's Gossamer from the Bugs Bunny cartoons "Hair-Raising Hare" and "Water, Water, Every Hare". He's from Mad Lab Models, through their Tiny Terrors line. The model is solid resin with no assembly required. After painting him, I posed Gossamer against my home-made "dungeon set" which was made from two balsa foam panels which were painted gray with the brick face carved into the surface. My thanks to John J. Mathews for tracking down the names of the cartoons Gossamer appeared in.
Kothoga from "The Relic"

As monster movies go, "The Relic" (1997) was so-so, but I liked the model kit of the monster Kothoga, from Revell Monogram. This is one of their vinyl kit releases.

A face that only a mother could love. This model made me wish I had an airbrush. But I compensated by blending the colors using washes and drybrushing methods. If Dracula could have a pet, I guess this would be it. Fetch, Fido!
Morlock from "The Time Machine"

While "The Time Machine" (1960) isn't a horror movie, the Morlocks from the film scared me as a kid, so I guess this fellow deserves a place in this creepy hall of fame. This is another Tiny Terrors solid resin kit from Mad Lab Models. Unlike the Gossamer, some assembly was required with the Morlock. I had to glue his arms on.
Bat-Creature

I loved Francis Ford Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992). While the film wasn't entirely faithful to the Stoker novel, it was such a visually lavish--not to mention extremely entertaining--version of the Count Dracula tale. So I picked up this 1/6th scale vinyl model kit from Horizon Models. This was the very first vinyl model kit that I built.

Another face that only a mother could love.... I painted his eyes red and the inside of his mouth pink with yellow fangs. These are the only different colors on this model other than the gray and black with which he is mainly painted.
