I first got hooked on Batman as a kid by watching the Adam West TV show when it was in reruns in the seventies. I then started reading the comics, which showed a more darker, complex side to the Caped Crusader than the TV series did (although I still love the Adam West show). After four feature films and an excellent animated series, my admiration for the Dark Knight continues well into my adulthood. While I can never afford a copy of Detective #27, which features Batman's very first appearance anywhere, or the copy of Batman #1 shown below, a big consolation for me has been building the stunning Batman model kits from Horizon.
