Horizon released a series of Batman figures in 1/8 scale vinyl. Two Face is the first one that I've completed. Two Face is actually Harvey Dent, who used to be the District Attorney for Gotham City, until the moment when a vengeful criminal scarred him for life by throwing acid into his face.
The acid only scarred one side of Dent's face, thus turning him into Two-Face, a bizzare but deadly criminal who makes life or death decisions by flipping a coin. If the coin comes up on the scratched side, then Gotham City suffers Two-Face's homicidal fits. His suit is painted blue on his normal side, dark green on his scarred side.
I painted the scarred side of his face with a base coat of flat purple--then I covered the recesses with a black wash, and dry brushed a lighter shade of purple on the cheeks and other raised areas. A pre-scarred Harvey Dent was played by Billy Dee Williams in "Batman" (1989), while Tommy Lee Jones played Two Face in "Batman Forever" (1995).
Batgirl was the second vinyl figure that I've finished from the Horizon Batman series. Like Two Face, Batgirl is also 1/8th scale. Batgirl had some trouble standing on her own, so I cut out a little base for her from some sheet plastic. She comes with her own base, but it's also made of vinyl and it wasn't very stable.
Batgirl is actually Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. I was glad to see that Horizon decided to go with the original comic book version of Batgirl. However, they still added a nice touch: the pouch on her right hip.
In the Adam West TV series, Batgirl was played by the lovely Yvonne Craig. Alicia Silverstone played a cowl-less Batgirl in 1997's "Batman & Robin". And Tara Charendoff supplies the voice for Batgirl in the superb "Batman: The Animated Series".

In the Fall of 1999, Revell Models re-issued this 1960s Robin kit, along with the vintage 1960s kits of Batman and Superman. Of course, being a huge Batman/Superman fan, I had to buy them all. I decided to build Robin first, because it looked so interesting. He certainly seems busy enough, doesn't he?

I never had these kits when they first came out (hey, I was only a pre-schooler at the time, ok?), so it was a pleasure for me to get them now. I'm planning on building the Batman re-issue next. When Batman is done, you'll see him here.
